IMVi Miles

In 2021 we are focused on re-engaging with giving back to local communities and society as a whole through charity work and fundraising activities.

One of our key initiatives has just launched... and we need your support!

We are delighted to have chosen Guide Dogs as our gold level charity partner and have set an ambitious target to raise £5,000 to be given the opportunity to "Name a Puppy". In order to kickstart our fundraising, we decided to set up a challenge that would allow our team to come together (virtually), get active and challenge themselves... and now we are giving you the opportunity to join us 😀👇

IMVi Miles

Employee Volunteering Programme

What is Social Good Connect?

Social Good Connect is a non-profit digital search and match platform. It allows company employees to volunteer with their employer’s support and help the communities they serve and overstretched charities.

Why did we sign up with Social Good Connect?

We’ve organised lots of CSR initiatives in the past, but our activities had begun to fade shortly before the pandemic put a stop to any plans. We had been involved in all sorts of development work helping third world countries as well as more local activity, and the pandemic gave us a chance to review our entire CSR strategy. We were looking for a way for our employees to give back, connect with new charities and do what they wanted. Social Good Connect easily allows us to do that.

The IMVi Team Future Football Champs

With the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament taking place, some of the IMVi team have been inspired to pull their football boots back, get fitter and engage in some friendly (mostly!) competition with their colleagues… and they are raising money for a fantastic cause at the same time!

Employees from across various departments in the business have arranged a bi-weekly 7 a side football game with everyone paying to take part and £1 of each fee being donated to our fundraising for Guide Dogs UK..

Bellshill A Girls Football Team 003

Go team! IMV imaging supporting the local girls football team

Bellshill Academy is a local high school which run a comprehensive extra-curricular programme with a range of activities including dance, netball, football, badminton and basketball to name a few, and which enjoys a multi award winning leadership academy for sport.

The school has been a key player in the local community for a number of years and has a strong ethos on ‘giving back’. Pre-Covid the school would delight the local care home with their annual Christmas Carols, raise funds and donations for food banks and organise coaching and activities for primary kids. They have recently been trying to boost participation within sport and have had varying success with the boys’ teams. This year the school found it had 11 girls within S1-S3 who wish to now get involved. However the school was low on funds and recently the team had to even borrow kit from a boys’ team.

This is where IMV imaging come in 😊 The school were seeking a donation/sponsorship for the girls’ team to help set them up with kit and we were only too happy to help.

Twycross Zoo

Donation of a DR-X-ray system to Twycross Zoo

Due to the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions Twycross zoo have been closed for several months with no income to support the zoo. This has put a significant strain on the funds the zoo has available to keep equipment up to date and repairing broken systems. As a result they have found themselves with a broken X-ray system they couldn't repair due to the lack of funds. So they called us to see if we could help them out and we were happy to help by giving them a brand new Clairox DR X-ray system.  In this video, we show Gary McGuigan  getting the DR X-ray system configured, quality checked and carefully packaged for it's journey to Twycross Zoo.

Gambia
IMV imaging Clinical team visit the Gambian Horse and Donkey Trust (GHDT)

The Gambia is the smallest country in mainland Africa. Apart from the Atlantic coastline, the country is completely surrounded by French speaking Senegal, and follows the winding course of the Gambia river inland.

It was here in 2002 that the late Stella Marsden OBE and her sister Heather Armstrong set up the Gambian Horse and Donkey Trust (GHDT). Created to improve the health, welfare and productivity of all Gambia’s animals, it provides essential veterinary services throughout the country.

The charity is always seeking qualified vets to work with them; to help with patient care and treatment, perform surgical procedures, and educate the staff at their clinics. So, when the opportunity came for some of the vets within IMV to spend some time helping the charity, Clinical Teammates Amy Haylock, Harriet Rhodes and Sam Mauchlen jumped at the chance.

Beneath the waves shark week
Going beneath the waves with the Duo-Scan:Go Oceanic: tiger shark pupping!

Dr Austin Gallagher, Marine Biologist and founder of Beneath the Waves contacted us back in 2019 to get a loan of our Duo-Scan:Go Oceanic underwater wireless ultrasound scanner for a research programme he was undertaking on tiger sharks in the Bahamas.

Dr Gallagher carries out vital research to understand the reproductive system of the tiger sharks and used our scanner to understand which sharks were pregnant to help conserve the future of the tiger sharks.

He is also a regular on the Discovery channels "Shark Week" in this video clip actor, Adam Devine features in "Secret Shark Lair" with Andre the Superhero attracting the tiger sharks close enough for a reading through spear fishing. The sharks feel the vibrations in the water and swim towards to investigate.  The guys then use our Duo-Scan:Go Oceanic to confirm a pregnancy underwater from a distance without any distress to the shark. (please note this video was just for fun, however the Duo-Scan:Go Oceanic was used for the real research programme carried out by Dr Austin Gallagher)

Throwbacks to Charities we have supported over the years

What does CSR mean to us at IMV imaging?

Our company was established with a commitment to helping our customers improve animal care through the invention, development and provision of diagnostic imaging equipment for veterinary and livestock use.

To fulfil this commitment, our business culture, behaviours and actions stem from a strong set of core values; “Innovation”, “Partnership”, and “Learning”, combined with a focus on putting our customers and their needs at the heart of everything we do.

To enable us to put our customers at the forefront of everything we do, we continue to invest in our people to create a world-class team of experts and maintain an inspiring working environment in which they can excel and have the capability to surpass customer expectations.

We continually seek new innovations to be at the forefront of the veterinary and livestock industry and provide product solutions that help drive efficiencies, have a positive impact on the environment and help drive sustainability within the industry.

At every opportunity we support our local, business and wider communities through local employment, apprenticeship programmes, internships and giving back through charitable activities and sponsorship's.
